As someone else noted, fc works, and works a little better than compare-object, and even better is downloading and using real tools like the unix emulator that Mikeage mentioned. These properties include file location, type, size, size on disk, created date, modified date, and last accessed data. Although you cannot compare the actual content inside the file, using the file size and its size on disk, you can check if the two files are the same. One simple way to see if the two files are similar is by checking its file size. However, by doing this, you cannot compare the contents inside the file. This is where file comparing applications come in.<\/p>\n

You can be adventurous, however, and see ALL the plugins, too. Once the Plugin Manager is open, click the Settings button and select the option to Show Unstable Plugins. This is another method using which you can easily add Notepad++ to Ubuntu using the software center. Good for beginners or those who prefer GUI to commands. Please note, at the end this method installs the Notepad++ snap package only. There is no official snap available for Notepad++.<\/p>\n
